REBULA - AN INDIGENOUS WINE VARIETY FROM THE PAST TO A WINE OF THE FUTURE
In the end of August, Brda were wrapped in Rebula. Her moment has come, the time of harvest, while at the same time in Villa Vipolže was held a presentation of this variety - a variety full of intriguing stories. We believe that the stories about this variety will be written even more frequently in the future. Rebula occupies an increasingly important place among wine lovers and wine connoisseurs, both in Slovenia and abroad.
This interesting variety has fascinated also the well-known writer of the prestigious magazine Decanter - Andrewa Jefforda. At the first international Rebula Mastreclass, he tasted our Amfora Belo 2011 which is mostly enriched with Ribolla.
»An older wine made with 20 per cent Pinot Blanc with six months post-fermentation amphora maceration and a total of 18 months on lees, this is deep gold in colour. The scents suggest forest and library, while the wine is lighter in style than either the colour or the vinificatory approach suggested it would be: long, elegant, finally grippy.«
He rated the wine with 90 points! Cheers with Ribolla!

OUR YELLOW REBULA IS SILVER! NOT ONLY SILVER, but also ecological!
This year we decided to give our first ecological Ribolla the opportunity to shine. We sent it to the international wine competition Decanter World Wine Awards - DWWA. DWWA is the largest wine event and the most prestigious wine competitions in the world. And we are proud to announce that we have won silver. We will try our best to stain our wines in this prestigious colors also next year. Cheers!

SUSTAINABLE ECOLOGICAL – with love for Brda’s soil.
Our story is intertwined with the nature already 292 years. A few years ago, we decided to strengthen that bond with ecological production of grapes and wine. Vintage 2016 of Ribolla and Pinot Gris is very special – both types have the honour to "wear" the sign of ecological production. Next year Ribolla Nera will be joining the two. This ecological tale certainly won’t end here. All of our wines will be produced ecologically by 2019.

The Japanese have already met the wine from our wine cellar – but this week we’ll meet the Japanese cellar!
At the request of Keiko and Yukio, we’ll write a new story in our wine cellar from this year's harvest on. In a selected buried amphora we nurture the wine which matures especially for them according to their wishes. This red type will definitely be something special – a part of it it’s also Ribolla Nera, which is something completely new for both our market and as well for the Japanese market.
